ABSI - far beyond system integration



Background information

Careers International (CI) Europe's leading international recruitment event company. Its main activities are organizing international recruitment events for business customers and offering international job-opportunities to graduates and young professionals.


Through the CI website, candidates can subscribe to an event and seek interviews with CI's customers. Their database contains information about 80.000 graduates and young professionals. However the back-office of the system had became obsolete, was not very user-friendly and was limited in functionalities. The requirement was to build a new Back-office tool and 2 Portals in order to run the CI business

Solution approach

Configuration & development of their Back-office tool was undertaken in the Force.com, the cloud development platfrom of salesforcee.com. With this tool CI manage recruitement events, jobs and the 80.000 candidates subscribed in their database. We set-up an external MySQL DB to synchronize the CI database with Salesforce (via development of a synchronization-app). The tool was given rich functionality such as complex functionalities for their Candidate management ( mass-linking candidates to a job, mass-rejection of candidates, global content search in uploaded CV's, ...). Additionally mass-emailing capability was integrated in the system through the installation and set-up of VerticalResponse.

The project included 2 portals: a candiate Portal and a recruiter portal. ABSI is the hosting-partner for the 2 Portals including 24/7 monitoring and performance management. The web-service between the MySQL DB and the CI public website, enables CI-employees to manage the jobs-content in one single place (Salesforce).

Candidate Portal
This is a secured Portal, based on Java-technology, through which candidates can manage their profile and subscriptions. It contains complex business-rules and document upload & conversion functionality.

Recruiter Portal
The second secured Portal is also based on Java-technology and allows recruiters to manage the subscriptions (accept and reject candidates functionality for planning of their interviews).


The web portals and the new back-office tool allow CI manage their business with greater efficiency and convenience and it is all based on the cloud platform of the Force.com.
